Hilltop Opens Search for Two Deputy Directors

The Hilltop Institute (www.hilltopinstitute.org) at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) has opened a search for two Deputy Directors:

Deputy Director for Research and Policy
and
Deputy Director for Technology Innovation and Compliance

Hilltop is a university-based, non-partisan research organization dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of vulnerable populations. We conduct research, policy analysis, and sophisticated data analytics to support health care financing and delivery system reform in Maryland and other states. Hilltop is at the forefront of national efforts to find data-driven solutions to complex problems facing state policymakers as publicly funded health care systems transition to new models that reward quality and value over volume.

Hilltop is seeking creative strategic thinkers who understand the power of data-driven decision making in informing state health policy and achieving better health, better health care, and lower costs. Both positions require leadership, strategic focus, personal initiative, and excellent managerial skills.

The Deputy Director for Research and Policy will lead engagements with Maryland state agencies and other clients, further develop and diversify client relationships, and oversee the work of Hilltop's highly skilled directors and policy analysts responsible for Medicaid rate setting, financial analysis, econometric modeling, and research and policy studies in the areas of health reform, managed care, behavioral health, and long-term services and supports.

The Deputy Director for Technology Innovation and Compliance will lead Hilltop's efforts to harness new and existing resources to build a state-of-the-art data management infrastructure to support Hilltop's transition from single data set analytics to analytics that link multiple data sets at the consumer level. The Deputy Director will oversee client engagements for technology solutions and have responsibility for organizational compliance with HIPAA/HITECH requirements.
