Aldis (Al) Adamson is manager of health services research at The Hilltop Institute. He is responsible for evaluating managed care organizations, analyzing health plan financial data, performing statistical analyses on large healthcare data sets, and carrying out health economics and risk adjustment projects. Mr. Adamson has conducted several rate setting projects, developed costing and mix-adjustment models, and established break-even points for alternative health care delivery systems.
Prior to joining The Hilltop Institute, Mr. Adamson was a senior financial analyst at CarePartners, LLC, where he implemented improvement opportunities and reported financial performance. As managing director of BAX Associates, he analyzed business plans, represented emerging companies before capital sources, and guided their development. As project director with a major international consulting firm, he provided consulting services in profit improvement, financial control, and organizational structure. Mr. Adamson was instrumental in launching initial public stock offerings of two biotechnology companies and founded two start-up companies, one of which was sold to a larger company for a significant sum.
Mr. Adamson was a Computer Officer in the United States Navy Pacific Fleet Headquarters. He has a bachelor's degree in science from the University of North Dakota. He is a Healthcare Financial Management Association Certified Healthcare Financial Professional.
