Stephen Cunningham is a Unix specialist at The Hilltop Institute. His primary responsibilities include migrating Hilltop’s data warehouse to a Linux-based platform and working with Hilltop’s virtual server infrastructure.
Prior to joining Hilltop, Mr. Cunningham worked as a system engineer at Tenable Network Security, Inc., where he performed Linux, Solaris, and AIX administration and designed and built systems. As a technical support engineer at Interwoven, Inc., Mr. Cunningham set up test environments to replicate and solve customer issues and collaborated with software engineers to diagnose bugs and system issues. At Random House, Inc., Mr. Cunningham provided support to associates on Unix OS (mostly Solaris). As a Unix consultant at Avaron, Inc., he worked to bring various remote systems into compliance with company security standards, performed data gathering and analysis, and implemented application upgrades and security standards. While at Duty Free America, Inc.—where he worked for about a decade—Mr. Cunningham was a technical support analyst, manager of technical support, and then Unix system administrator.
Mr. Cunningham has a B.S. in business management from the University of Maryland, College Park. He is also an IBM Certified AIX 5 System Administrator.
