Hilltop Advisory Board Holds Inaugural Meeting
The Hilltop Institute’s Advisory Board held its inaugural meeting on August 1, 2018, on the UMBC campus. Ten distinguished scholars, health sector executives, and clinicians were appointed to the Board by UMBC President Freeman A. Hrabowski, III and will provide counsel to Hilltop’s Executive Director, Cynthia Woodcock, on strategic direction to advance Hilltop’s mission. The Board will meet twice a year. Christopher Koller, president of the Milbank Memorial Fund, is the chair.

Board members include Georges C. Benjamin, MD, executive director of the American Public Health Association (APHA); Dana Bradley, PhD, dean of the Erickson School at UMBC; Navid Farzad, CPA, partner with Morgan Noble Healthcare Partners; Len Fishman, JD, director of the Gerontology Institute at UMass Boston; Jon Mark Hirshon, MD, PhD, MPH, professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine and the Department of Epidemiology and Public Health at the University of Maryland School of Medicine; Genevieve M. Kenney, PhD, senior fellow and vice president for health policy at the Urban Institute; Steven B. Larsen, JD, former executive vice president of Government Solutions at Optum Inc.; Karen Minyard, PhD, CEO of the Georgia Health Policy Center (GHPC); and Susan M. Sterett, PhD, professor and director of the School of Public Policy at UMBC.
